About the role
Ascendo Resources is currently seeking a Senior Project Accountant for a full-time, on-site role. Salary range is $100,000 - $130,000.Our client is a well-established, growing general contracting and construction management firm in Manhattan, seeking a Project Accountant to join their construction accounting team. This is a firm known for a collaborative culture and strong employee retention — they're looking for someone who wants to build a long-term career, not just a next stop.
What You'll Do:
Manage client billing on G702 forms and monthly requisitions Review and process PCOs, RFAs, and subcontractor invoices for accuracy Calculate retainage per contract terms and schedule timely retainage releases Manage and issue the monthly Pencil Requisition Verify subcontractor insurance compliance (COIs) and track renewals Process subcontractor payments on a progress payment schedule Manage purchase orders and ensure accurate system entry throughout
What You Bring:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required)2+ years of accounting experience Experience with Sage Intacct strongly preferred Construction or construction management accounting background a plus Highly detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, fully on-site
Compensation & Benefits:
$120,000–$150,000 base salary 3 weeks PTO (increasing to 4 after 5 years), plus 7 holidays + 2 floating holidays Medical coverage (Anthem/BCBS) at 80% employer-covered Dental and vision coverage 401(k) with company match up to 3% (eligible after 90 days)Strong, collaborative office culture with low turnover
