  • Prepare shop drawings, floor plans, and mechanical drawings for commercial kitchen and hood projects

  • Join site visits to survey spaces and take measurements when needed
  • Revise drawings based on reviewer comments and resubmit for approval
  • Coordinate with our drafters, expediters, installers, and outside engineers/architects
  • Learn fire suppression system design (NFPA 96, UL-300, wet chemical systems) and take on suppression drawings over time
What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • Hands-on experience producing shop drawings (required)
  • Strong floor plan and mechanical drafting skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD [add Revit or other software if needed]Working knowledge of NYC building codes or DOB processes is a plus
  • A genuine interest in learning fire suppression systems
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing multiple projects at once
  • Must be based in the NYC area
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with commercial kitchen, HVAC, or exhaust system projects
  • Familiarity with NFPA standards
  • Interest in pursuing PE licensure

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
