About the role
Quality Inspector We are hiring a Quality Inspector at our Odessa, FL location for 2nd shift (2:30pm-10:30pm).Duties and Standards to Measure Workmanship and Quality: Position is Non-Exempt as defined in the Employee Handbook Conforms to Company policies, and/or department process instructions. Capable of working with and communicating effectively with management and team members. Capable of working effectively unsupervised. Knowledge and practice of good housekeeping and tool maintenance. Ability to maintain concentration on tasks and utilize work time efficiently. Ability to lift and carry 35 lbs.
Responsibilities Include:
- Cell Inspection: Inspect a sample from each operation (Machining, Dipping, Stamp, and Packing when applicable) of a cell to ensure the sample conforms to
- Philosophy: Evaluate/coaching of employee's process flow to ensure the cell aligns with facility's cell philosophy.
- Verify Operator's understanding of quality requirements and qualified on measurement instruments and techniques.
- Final Inspection: Perform standard sampling criterion, and ensure samples conform to specifications defined within engineering prints for all parts scheduled for 2nd Operation and take appropriate action when needed.
- Incoming Inspection: Assist Receiving Department for incoming cut to length material inspection.
- Calibration Program: Maintenance of all facility measuring devices, and calibration of such equipment per predetermined schedule.
- Ability to complete all paperwork and perform data entry for Inspection, Calibration, and MRP (Epicor, MES) software
in investigations including product complaint follow-up.
Participates in improvement efforts, as needed.
Capable of adapting to process changes and learning new skills.
Communicates and promotes the facility's Lean Management System, cell philosophy.
Performs any tasks necessary on a daily basis to maintain production flow and performs any other duties that may be assigned.
