About the role
Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
Job Summary:
We are a private mental health practice seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our clinical team. In this role, you will provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing treatment to patients in an outpatient setting, working collaboratively alongside a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.
Responsibilities:
The PMHNP will conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments, formulate diagnoses of mental health conditions, and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs. You will prescribe and manage psychiatric medications in accordance with evidence-based best practices, monitor patient progress on an ongoing basis, and adjust treatment plans as clinically indicated. In addition to direct patient care, you will provide thorough education on diagnoses, medications, and treatment options, ensuring patients are active participants in their own care. Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation is a core expectation of this position, as is collaboration with therapists, psychologists, and other providers when clinically appropriate. The PMHNP will uphold full compliance with all applicable clinical, ethical, and regulatory standards at all times.
Qualifications:
Candidates must hold a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing and possess board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience as a PMHNP is required. An active state NP license in good standing is required, along with a current DEA registration or the ability to obtain one. Strong clinical judgment and effective communication skills are essential to success in this role. Preferred Experience
We welcome candidates with at least three years of experience in outpatient mental health or private practice settings, as well as those who are comfortable managing an independent patient caseload. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) platforms is preferred. Above all, we are looking for clinicians who share our commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. Schedule & Work Environment
This position is based within our outpatient private mental health practice and offers a flexible schedule to support work-life balance. Care is delivered through a combination of in-person and telehealth appointments, providing variety in how you connect with and serve your patients.
Before you apply
Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.
Your profile is current
It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.
Two examples you can talk through
Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.
A number in mind
What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.
Your notice period
Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.
Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
