Senior Systems Engineer | Navy Mission Planning | Patuxent River, MDStealth Talent Solutions is partnering with a growing, employee-focused defense contractor to hire a Senior Systems Engineer supporting current and next-generation Navy mission planning products at NAS Patuxent River. This is a lead role. You'll own systems engineering across the full lifecycle, from concept through fielding and in-service support, and work directly with active-duty users, NAVAIR leadership, and cross-functional engineering teams.
Salary: $130,000 to $160,000, based on experience
Location: On-site, Patuxent River, MD
Clearance: Active DoD Top Secret required
Citizenship: U.S. citizenship requiredWHAT YOU'LL DO- Serve as Systems Engineering Lead for the Mission Planning Environment- Manage Engineering Change Proposals and shepherd them through the Configuration Control Board- Lead System Engineering Review Boards to analyze and prioritize deficiencies and drive fixes- Translate CONOPS and use cases into system-level requirements- Develop Systems Engineering Plans, TEMP annexes, capability roadmaps, and integration plans- Support test strategy, test plans, and fleet test events- Support ATO and continuous monitoring across the CI/CD pipeline in an Agile/SAFe environment- Build program briefings, budgets, and risk assessments for NAVAIR, CNO, and Congressional staff- Prepare monthly CDRL reports and technical white papersWHAT YOU BRING- 10+ years of systems engineering experience on DoD programs- Hands-on experience with ECPs, CCBs, and configuration management- Experience writing SEPs, TEMPs, CONOPS, and other lifecycle documentation- Working knowledge of MIL-STD requirements, program management, and cost analysis- Active DoD Top Secret clearance- MS in Systems Engineering or a related technical field, OR a BS plus 4 additional years of relevant experienceNICE TO HAVE- NAVAIR experience, especially PMA-281 or JMPS- Experience leading classified or sensitive military programs- Background in risk assessment and mission-critical system optimizationWHY THIS ROLE- Lead-level ownership on a mission planning program the fleet relies on- Long-term stability with a growing defense contractor- Excellent benefits and a clear path for career advancement Interested?
