About the role

We’re partnering with a high-growth, multi-site business to hire a Senior Director of People Operations. The company has grown significantly over the last several years and has ambitious plans for what comes next. It has done that without building a huge corporate center. Local businesses retain their identity and autonomy, while a lean central team gives them the support, systems and resources to grow. That model is not changing. The infrastructure around it needs to evolve as the business gets bigger. People Operations has historically existed across different people and functions rather than as one clearly defined organization. This person will work closely with the Chief People Officer to bring that together, build the function, and help create the People infrastructure needed for the next stage of growth. The remit is broad, covering HR operations, people technology, data and analytics, leader onboarding, benefits, recognition and governance. Some of this exists today and works well. Other areas need improvement, integration, or to be built for the first time. The challenge is doing that without turning a fast-moving business into a corporate HR machine. Our client operates a decentralized model where local leaders retain ownership of their businesses and their people. This person needs to understand where greater consistency will improve the group, but also where to leave things alone. Success will come through influence, building useful systems, and earning credibility with leaders rather than adding policies and mandates. We’re looking for someone who has seen what great looks like inside a larger, sophisticated organization, but still has the appetite to build. You might have scaled People Operations, introduced new HR technology or analytics, supported a complex multi-site organization, strengthened governance, or helped a business through a significant period of growth. What matters is being able to take that experience and apply it here without bringing all of the process that came with it. This is an opportunity to join a business that is moving quickly, with a lot still to build and a leadership team investing ahead of where the company is going. For someone who has spent time in a mature HR organization and wants the opportunity to build, shape and own something themselves, there is a lot of runway here. The role is based in Denver and offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. Please apply directly or reach out for more information.lewis@elementsixco.com

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
