Summary: We are seeking a dedicated Research Technician II to join the Hajjar Lab in advancing research on Alzheimer's disease and neurodegenerative disorders. This role primarily centers on supporting the lab's clinical biorepository- handling, processing, and maintaining accurate Open Specimen inventory for human biospecimens (blood, CSF, urine, and buccal swabs). The position involves hands‑on laboratory testing with the Lumipulse platform, assisting with vascular assessments, and maintaining shared laboratory infrastructure. Additionally, the role provides vital administrative and operational support, including office procurement, tracking meeting minutes, organizing laboratory records, and assisting with data analysis.
Job Duties: Assist with collection of blood, urine, CSF, and buccal swabs.
Handle, process, and test biospecimens. Maintain proficiency on the Lumipulse platform. Maintain biospecimen inventory and freezer storage through open specimen. Coordinate with core facilities for sample processing. Perform routine laboratory research procedures. Record experimental results. Maintain shared laboratory infrastructure. Hazardous and biohazardous waste disposal. Order laboratory supplies and equipment. Take detailed meeting minutes and track laboratory action items. Maintain digital and paper records, equipment manuals, and laboratory SOPs. Assist with scheduling, facility work orders, vendor deliveries, and package intake. Support document control, data filing, and routine clerical workflows Assist with vascular testing using pulse wave analysis/velocity Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement. No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated experience processing biospecimens, including PBMCs, buffy coat, plasma, and other blood-derived samples. Preference will be given to candidates with prior blood-processing experience. Work Authorization Requirement: This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of application and throughout the duration of employment.
