About the role
We're partnering with an established California general contractor that's looking to add an experienced Superintendent to its San Diego team. This role offers the opportunity to lead ground-up multifamily construction, overseeing day-to-day field operations from start through closeout. The company has an active project pipeline throughout California, providing opportunities for long-term growth.
What You'll Be Doing:
Oversee daily field operations on ground-up multifamily construction projects Manage subcontractors, field personnel, site logistics, and construction activities Develop and maintain project schedules, including short-term look-ahead schedules Coordinate with Project Managers, owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners Lead subcontractor meetings and ensure work progresses according to schedule Oversee quality control, site safety, inspections, and compliance with project specifications Identify and resolve field conflicts, construction issues, and scheduling delays Coordinate RFIs, submittals, material deliveries, and subcontractor activities with the project team Manage punch lists, inspections, and final project closeout What We're Looking For 5+ years of Superintendent experience with a general contractor Strong ground-up multifamily construction experience, preferably with podium or mixed-use developments Experience managing large-scale multifamily projects from ground-up construction through completion Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, MEP coordination, and quality control Experience managing multiple subcontractors and maintaining project schedules Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, and construction scheduling software Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to work on-site in San Diego
