About the role
Our client, a rapidly growing independent Registered Investment Advisor (RIA), is seeking an ambitious and analytical Financial Planning Associate to join their team. This is an outstanding opportunity for an early-career professional looking to develop expertise in financial planning, investment management, and client relationship management while working alongside experienced advisors in a collaborative environment. The Financial Planning Associate will support the firm's advisors in delivering comprehensive financial planning services and helping clients achieve their long-term financial goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist advisors in preparing comprehensive financial plans, retirement analyses, cash flow projections, and investment recommendations. Gather, organize, and analyze client financial data to support planning engagements. Prepare meeting materials, planning presentations, and client deliverables. Participate in client meetings and document follow-up action items. Conduct research on financial planning topics, investment strategies, insurance solutions, and retirement planning concepts. Utilize financial planning software to develop projections and model planning scenarios. Support ongoing client service needs and planning updates. Maintain accurate client records and ensure data integrity within CRM and planning systems. Collaborate with advisors and operations personnel to ensure a seamless client experience. Stay current on industry trends, planning strategies, and regulatory developments.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Financial Planning, Economics, Business, Accounting, or a related field.1+ years of experience in wealth management, financial planning, financial services, or a related field; OR relevant internship experience and/or coursework in financial planning, investments, retirement planning, or wealth management. Strong interest in pursuing a long-term career in financial planning and wealth management. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong verbal and written communication abilities. High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point.
Preferred Qualifications:
Exposure to financial planning software such as eMoney. Familiarity with investment management concepts and financial markets. Progress toward or interest in pursuing the CFP certification. Experience with CRM systems such as Salesforce.
