Job Title: SMT Operator Pay: $18.00/hour + DOE Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Start Date: ASAP Looking to advance your career with a leading electronics manufacturer in Corvallis? Join our high-tech assembly team as an SMT Operator and play a vital role in producing high-quality printed circuit assemblies (PCAs). Working as part of a collaborative SMT cell under the guidance of the SMT Manager, you will be responsible for the mechanical setup, operation, and routine maintenance of surface-mount technology equipment—including feeder setup, stencil printing, reflow oven profiling, and pick-and-place machinery.
What You'll Do: As an SMT Operator, you will be responsible for Feeder setup & teardown: Prepare, load, and teardown feeders according to production schedules; verify physical component placement and labeling to minimize downtime and component loss. Stencil printer (GKG) setup: Align stencils, apply solder paste, set up squeegees, run test prints, and perform post-run cleaning per SOPs. Reflow oven setup: Load and execute the correct reflow profiles for each assembly run. Machine operation & setup: Adjust mechanical components (conveyors, nozzles, trolleys), load finished programs, run SMT pick-and-place equipment, and perform regular operational checks. Maintenance & troubleshooting: Perform routine preventative maintenance on SMT equipment and resolve mechanical machine issues. Quality & process verification: Coordinate with QA to inspect board accuracy, document deviations, and ensure output meets strict IPC quality standards. Cross-training & continuous improvement: Participate in designated cross-training on program verification and library maintenance to expand your skill set. What You'll Bring The ideal candidate for this role will have Experience & knowledge: Prior experience in electronics manufacturing or PCA assembly, with an understanding of component sensitivity and SMT assembly processes. Technical aptitude: Ability to work with digital assembly instructions, interpret technical documents, and assemble complex, small-scale components. Detail-oriented: Exceptional focus on quality, accuracy, and adherence to standard operating procedures. Teamwork & communication: Strong collaborative skills and adaptability to meet shifting project requirements.
