About the role

Vice President, Finance – Management Company Join a sophisticated financial services firm in a broad finance leadership role with ownership across management company accounting, financial reporting, partnership tax and equity, cross-border finance, and FP&A. This position offers significant exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to oversee the financial infrastructure supporting a growing global organization. Responsibilities as the Vice President, Finance: Management Company Accounting: Own the general ledger and monthly and annual close processes across the U.S. management company, GP entity, and international subsidiary. Financial Reporting: Prepare U.S. GAAP combined and consolidated financial statements, including supporting schedules and financial statement footnotes. Audit Management: Lead the annual external audit from planning through completion, including PBC requests, technical accounting memos, auditor coordination, and final sign-off. Cross-Border Accounting: Manage intercompany activity, foreign subsidiary accounting, intercompany loans, eliminations, FX considerations, and cost-plus recharge arrangements. Partnership Tax: Coordinate federal, state, and international tax processes, including Form 1065 workpapers, partner K-1 allocations, estimated payments, and related tax reporting.
Partner Equity: Maintain ownership records, partner capital accounts, units, vesting schedules, admissions and withdrawals, capital contributions, and distributions. Distribution Modeling: Model and administer partner distributions and equity economics while ensuring accurate allocation of income and loss. Budgeting & Forecasting: Own the annual operating budget, periodic reforecasts, budget-to-actual analysis, and driver-level reporting for senior leadership. Cash Flow & Financial Modeling: Maintain rolling cash flow forecasts and build financial models supporting hiring, new offices, new entities, fee revenue, and other strategic growth initiatives. Management Reporting: Develop recurring financial and operating reporting packages that provide senior leadership with visibility into performance, liquidity, and key business drivers. Process & Controls: Enhance accounting processes, financial controls, reporting infrastructure, and scalable workflows as the organization continues to grow. Qualifications for the Vice President, Finance:
Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience with significant corporate or management company accounting responsibility. Accounting: Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP with experience preparing consolidated financial statements and managing complex entity structures. Audit: Demonstrated experience managing external financial statement audits and coordinating directly with external auditors. Partnership Tax: Strong understanding of partnership taxation, including Form 1065 workpapers, K-1 allocations, state and local filings, and partner capital accounts.
Partner Equity: Experience maintaining partnership or member ownership records, including units, vesting, admissions, withdrawals, distributions, and equity economics. Cross-Border Experience: Exposure to foreign subsidiaries or branches, FX translation and remeasurement, intercompany accounting, and transfer pricing concepts. FP&A: Experience building operating budgets, cash flow forecasts, variance analyses, and driver-based financial models.
Technical Skills: Advanced Excel skills with the ability to own complex, formula-driven consolidation, forecasting, and financial reporting models. Attributes: Highly analytical and detail-oriented with strong ownership, communication, and problem-solving skills and the ability to work directly with senior leadership.
