About the role
Job Description:
The Production Employee / Production Support employee is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations by supplying production lines with materials, maintaining assigned hoppers and workstations, performing product and packaging checks, removing waste and recycling, maintaining housekeeping standards, and assisting other positions as directed. Employees are expected to work safely, remain in their assigned area until properly relieved, follow current site procedures and PPE requirements, and communicate questions or problems promptly to the Line Lead or Coordinator.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Report to the assigned work area on time and remain at the assigned position until relieved or otherwise directed. Follow all current safety rules, PPE requirements, site procedures, and instructions from the Line Lead or Coordinator. Keep assigned bottle, pump, cap, or material hoppers supplied and organized. Open, unwrap, move, stack, and organize pallets and production materials as directed. Break down empty boxes and place cardboard and other recyclable material in the designated locations. Change box totes, wraps, pallets, garbage containers, and recycling containers as needed. Move boxes, bottles, pumps, caps, and other production materials to their designated areas. Inspect bottles, pumps, caps, boxes, and other materials for obvious damage, incorrect placement, missing components, or other issues within the assigned duties. Remove damaged boxes or incorrect material from the production flow according to site instructions. Perform assigned torque/lid placement or packaging checks when trained and assigned to that workstation. Maintain clean and orderly workstations and surrounding production areas throughout the shift. Take cardboard, plastic, and labeler recycling to the appropriate designated location or baler as required. Collect and dispose of garbage according to shift and site instructions. Assist nearby workstations or production lines when directed and when doing so is consistent with safety and training. Follow department rotation and break procedures and do not leave a position until the appropriate relief is present. Complete end-of-shift cleanup and leave the work area supplied, safe, clean, organized, and ready for the next shift. Report safety concerns, equipment/material problems, shortages, damaged product, or other production issues to the Line Lead or Coordinator promptly.
