About the role

Temporary 1st Shift Monday Friday, 6:00am 2:30pm Pay: $18.00 The Diaphragm Trimmer / General Laborer is responsible for performing post-molding finishing work, including trimming, deflashing, and inspecting rubber, PTFE, and elastomeric diaphragms or seals. This position ensures all completed parts meet strict dimensional and visual standards before final packaging, while supporting general shop floor cleanliness and material movement.
Key Responsibilities: Trimming & Deflashing: Hand-trim excess flash from molded rubber and PTFE diaphragms using precision knives, scissors, exacto blades, and specialty fixtures without damaging the sealing surface. Visual & Dimensional Quality Inspection: Inspect trimmed parts for voids, tears, improper thickness, or residual material using simple measuring tools (calipers, optical comparators, or thickness gauges).General Labor & Material Handling: Assist with moving raw materials, loading/unloading curing ovens, and staging molded parts for press operators. Scrap & Production Tracking: Accurately count and record good parts vs. scrap/waste on job logs and clock in/out of work orders correctly. Shop Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized work station, dispose of trimmings, and adhere to all facility safety policies and PPE standards.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience: 06 months in a manufacturing environment; experience with deburring, deflashing, assembly, or fine detail hand-work is a strong plus.
Skills: Strong manual dexterity, good hand-eye coordination, fine-motor control, and high attention to detail. Physical Requirements &
Working Conditions: Environment: Industrial manufacturing facility with moderate noise, ambient heat from nearby press ovens, and exposure to rubber/plastics.
Physical Demands: Sustained fine-motor hand movements (cutting, gripping, pinching); ability to stand or sit for extended periods; frequent bending, stooping, and lifting up to 30 lbs.
