About the role
Sr. Mainframe Automation (Rocket Macro to IBM PCOMM Migration)100% Remote Fulltime Salary + Benefits Serve as the technical lead for analyzing, reverse engineering, and converting Rocket terminal emulator macros into IBM PCOMM automation solutions while maintaining business functionality, performance, and output accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
Analyze existing Rocket macros and business workflows.
Reverse engineer and document business logic and process dependencies.
Develop automation solutions using PCOMM, EHLLAPI, HACL, VBA, VBScript, PowerShell, and COM Automation.
Automate host navigation, screen interactions, file transfers, batch processing, and multi-session operations.
Implement robust error handling, logging, synchronization, retry, and recovery mechanisms.
Create technical design documents, macro mapping documentation, and operational runbooks.
Required Skills:
10+ years of experience with IBM 3270/5250 terminal environments and mainframe automation.
Strong expertise in IBM PCOMM, EHLLAPI, HACL, COM Automation, and session management.
Advanced knowledge of VBA and VBScript; PowerShell experience preferred.
Deep understanding of host sessions, screen attributes, AID keys, keyboard mappings, and terminal emulation technologies.
