Drum Sander Operator We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Drum Sander Operator to join our production team. The ideal candidate will operate and maintain drum sanding equipment used to smooth and finish wood surfaces. This position requires precision, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to quality and safety standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities: Set up and operate drum sanders to sand and smooth wood components to specified finish levels. Select appropriate sanding materials and adjust machine settings based on job requirements. Inspect raw and finished parts to ensure they meet quality and dimension specifications. Monitor equipment performance, make routine adjustments, and report malfunctions or maintenance needs. Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Keep accurate records of materials used, job completions, and any production issues. Collaborate with team members in related departments (e.g., cutting, assembly, finishing) to ensure product consistency and workflow efficiency.
Requirements: Previous experience operating drum sanders or other industrial sanding/woodworking equipment preferred. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or production specifications. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality craftsmanship. Physical ability to stand for extended periods and handle wood components of various sizes and weights. Basic math skills and the ability to use measuring tools such as calipers, rulers, and gauges. Understanding of safety practices in a woodshop or manufacturing environment.
