About the role
Overview:
The Vice President, Growth Marketing is responsible for driving growth strategies across the Sun Communities and Sun Outdoors brands through partnership with property and operations leaders. Additionally, they are responsible for leading the Growth Marketing Business Partner team, translating business objectives into integrated marketing plans, and coordinating cross-functional marketing efforts to achieve occupancy, revenue, and demand generation goals. This role operates as the leader of an in-house agency, with the Growth Marketing team serving as strategic business partners to property and operations leaders. By building strong stakeholder relationships, understanding business objectives, and developing tailored strategies, the team aligns and mobilizes Marketing Centers of Excellence to deliver measurable results.
Job Duties:
Sets the growth marketing strategy that drives measurable business outcomes across the property portfolio - occupancy, revenue, brand demand, and customer acquisition and retention. (Essential) Leads the Marketing Business Partner team as the trusted, peer-level partner to property and field leadership, understanding their goals deeply enough to anticipate needs rather than simply respond to requests. (Essential) Translates business needs into clear briefs and mobilizes the Centers of Excellence (Brand & Creative, Performance/Digital, and MarTech) into one integrated activation, conducting the marketing engine rather than owning individual channels. (Essential) Builds and runs integrated go-to-market plans that connect brand, demand generation, and marketing technology into cohesive campaigns tied to business results. (Essential) Establishes portfolio priorities and marketing plans based on property performance, business objectives, and market conditions. (Essential) Coordinates team member selection and development and ensures team members comply with appropriate policies and procedures. Monitors marketing performance, reports growth impact to leadership, identifies opportunities for improvement, and recommends corrective actions to keep plans on track to occupancy and revenue targets. Leads marketing planning and resource allocation activities to maximize business results and operational efficiency. Forecasts changes and communicates potential issues and opportunities affecting portfolio performance. Facilitates a positive and collaborative work environment among property, operations, and marketing teams. Provides input into marketing strategy and strategic planning as a member of the marketing leadership team. Other duties and special projects, as assigned.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field (Required)10+ years in experience in marketing, growth marketing, account management, or related experience (Required)
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Strong organizational, marketing, and strategic planning skillsAbility to analyze data and identify opportunities to improve business performance
- Ability to creatively solve problems and recommend effective solutions
- Excellent communication and presentation skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to translate business objectives into actionable marketing plans
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM systems, CMS platforms, Google Analytics, and marketing reporting tools
- Experience partnering with business leaders and cross-functional teams to drive results
- Experience managing multiple projects, priorities, and stakeholder relationships
- Experience leading marketing planning and resource allocation activities
- Agency, consulting, or client-facing marketing experience
