About the role

Blending & Distillation Operator We are hiring a Blending & Distillation Operator for a manufacturing facility in Lakeland, FL. This position is responsible for operating blending and distillation equipment used to process liquid raw materials, including citrus oils, terpenes, alcohols, and other ingredients. Candidates should have previous forklift experience and ideally have experience in blending, chemical processing, food or beverage manufacturing, flavor and fragrance production, or a similar process-manufacturing environment. You will receive training before transitioning to the permanent 7 PM7 AM night shift.
Responsibilities: Perform batch blending operations using liquid and semi-volatile raw materials Follow batch sheets, formulations, and SOPs to accurately weigh, add, and mix materials Operate distillation equipment, including fractional distillation units, wiped film evaporators, and short-path distillation systems Monitor and adjust temperatures, vacuum levels, reflux ratios, and flow rates Operate and monitor supporting equipment such as boilers, condensers, chillers, and heat exchangers Set up and clean tanks, reactors, piping, pumps, and distillation columns Maintain accurate batch and production documentation Safely operate a sit-down propane forklift Follow all facility safety, quality, and production procedures
Qualifications: Previous forklift experience required Manufacturing, blending, batching, chemical processing, or production experience preferred Experience with citrus processing, terpenes, or aroma chemicals is a plus Experience in flavor & fragrance, food ingredients, nutraceutical, or chemical manufacturing is preferred Understanding of basic distillation principles, including boiling points, reflux, and vapor/liquid separation, is a plus Experience with SAP, Net Suite, or another ERP/batch-tracking system is a plus Exposure to GC or GC-MS sampling/quality processes is helpful Comfortable working around production equipment and strong odors
Work Environment: Non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment Strong citrus/orange aroma throughout the facility Must be comfortable working a 12-hour night shift Schedule Candidates will train on an initial training shift to learn the equipment, processes, and safety procedures.
