Electrical Engineer - Embedded Controls

12-month contract Relocation: Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidatesKYO Group is seeking an Electrical Engineer to support embedded controls development for Thermo Fisher Scientific's laboratory cold-storage and ultra-low temperature product portfolio. This position is well suited for an early-career electrical engineer with hands-on embedded hardware, firmware, circuit-design, and product-development experience.
Responsibilities:
Design embedded control electronics and PCB assemblies- Develop schematics, design analysis, bills of material, and engineering documentation- Develop embedded firmware and controller software- Support C/C++-based embedded development- Develop HMI functionality using embedded software frameworks- Develop qualification and performance-test methods- Conduct prototype testing and analyze engineering test results- Support analog, digital, mixed-signal, and high-speed circuit development- Collaborate with mechanical and refrigeration engineering teams- Support formal design reviews- Participate in FMEA, Design for Manufacturing, and Design for Test activities- Work with contract manufacturers- Maintain requirements and design documentation- Support compliance with UL, IEC, FDA, and similar product requirements Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering- 0-2+ years of relevant embedded-controls or electronic-product-development experience- Experience with analog and digital circuit design- C/C++ programming experience- Familiarity with microcontrollers and embedded hardware- Experience with prototyping and hardware testing- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills Preferred Experience- PCB design and layout- PADS or similar PCB-design tools- USB, Ethernet, LVDS, mixed-signal, or high-speed circuit design- Python and Java Script- Qt framework- Jira, Git, and Confluence- IEC 60601 or other electrical-safety standards- Electromechanical product development Military developmental engineering and technical electronics experience may be considered where applicable.
