About the role

Overview In this role you will act as a strategic partner across the People & Culture function to enable teams to thrive while upholding a strong people-first culture. You will influence leaders on workforce planning, performance, and organizational design, ensuring alignment with Metro Star’s people strategy and government-contracting compliance. You will lead employee relations, learning, compensation, and HR operations at scale for a complex workforce. This is a hands-on role with significant impact on culture, compliance, and people analytics. Compensation / Benefits Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays Parental leave and dependent care Flexible work arrangements Professional development opportunities Responsibilities Serve as a strategic advisor to assigned business units, including operations, delivery, and technical teams Provide consultative support on workforce planning, performance management, and engagement Translate business needs into solutions aligned with Metro Star’s people strategy Foster accountability, inclusion, and high performance across units Lead sensitive employee relations matters and guide managers through actions and appeals Ensure compliance with employment laws, policy, and government contracting requirements (EEO, OFCCP, SCA)Identify culture trends and address morale issues through training or coaching Manage compensation strategies, benchmarking, and pay reviews for compliance and competitiveness Support development of learning plans and assess impact of training and certification programs Oversee core HR processes (onboarding, offboarding, HRIS data integrity, documentation)Prepare for audits and DCAA reviews and support cross-functional collaboration for seamless employee experiences Leverage AI-enabled HR tools and analytics to improve processes while ensuring privacy and compliance Key requirements Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field 7+ years HR experience 4+ years in employee relations leadership 2+ years supporting federal contracts Experience as a Business Partner to business units Compensation experience within government contracting (SCA, exempt/non-exempt)Familiarity with OFCCP, EEO, and labor classification requirements Success in developing professional development and training frameworks Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills High emotional intelligence and ethical judgment Experience with AI-enabled HR technologies and data-driven decision making Interpersonal effectiveness Communication Emotional intelligenceHRIS data integrity Employee relations investigations and documentation Compliance auditing and inspections
