About the role

Director of Project Finance — Solar & Storage Confidential search on behalf of a growing solar and energy storage developer/financier with an exclusive CCA (community choice aggregation) program partnership, a direct C&I origination channel, and a residential battery storage TPO platform. Combined pipeline is scaling toward $50M–$100M in annual deployed capital.
The Role: Lead the project finance function and own origination, structuring, and pricing across all three channels — CCA programs, direct C&I, and residential storage TPO. High-autonomy role covering the full lifecycle: screening, financial modeling, PPA pricing, capital formation, and closing. You'll build and manage the analyst team beneath you and set the underwriting standards the function runs on. What You'll Own Project financial models, pricing strategy, and model governance across territories Territory/market strategy: utility rate structures, net metering, avoided cost analysis, storage incentive programsITC transfer sale process end to end — buyer sourcing, negotiation, diligence, closing Tax equity, transferability, and capital provider relationships Residential TPO fund-level model: incentive qualification, portfolio pricing, capital stack returnsFEOC compliance, §48E, MACRS, §7701(e) coordination with counsel and accounting Recruiting, training, and managing the project finance analyst bench What You Bring 8+ years in C&I solar, renewable energy finance, or energy consulting, with 3+ years leading transactions or running a finance function Demonstrated transaction leadership — tax equity, ITC transfer, project debt, or portfolio sale Familiarity with CCA, municipal, or public-sector offtake structures Comfort underwriting at both single-project and portfolio/fund level Expert-level Excel financial modeling — able to build a project finance model from scratch and defend it to an investment committee Command of PPA structures, ITC/depreciation (§48E, MACRS), net metering, and avoided cost economics Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, engineering, or related field
