About the role

Endurance IT Services is in search of Senior Security Engineer to join a client in North Virginia! This security engineer will help design, implement, and maintain enterprise security solutions that protect systems, data, and users. This role combines security engineering, incident response, technical leadership, and cross-functional collaboration to strengthen the organization's overall security posture.
Key Responsibilities: Design, implement, and support enterprise security tools and services across endpoint, cloud, email, network, and identity security domains. Monitor security alerts, logs, and telemetry to identify threats, vulnerabilities, and opportunities for improvement. Ensure security platforms remain properly configured, patched, and aligned with established security standards. Support incident response activities, including investigation, containment, remediation, and post-incident reviews. Partner with IT and project teams to integrate security requirements into system designs and technology initiatives. Assist with audits, compliance efforts, documentation, policies, standards, and operational runbooks. Research emerging threats and technologies and recommend security enhancements. Lead or contribute to security projects while providing technical guidance to peers and stakeholders.
Qualifications: 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and administering enterprise security solutions. Strong expertise in areas such as endpoint security, vulnerability management, cloud security, Microsoft 365 security, encryption, logging, and threat management. Experience with incident response, root cause analysis, and remediation activities. Knowledge of security controls, standards, compliance frameworks, and audit processes. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across technical and business teams.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Security certifications such as CISSP, CISA, GIAC, Security+, Microsoft Security, or similar credentials. Experience with Azure, Microsoft 365, SIEM platforms, network security, vulnerability management, endpoint protection, and enterprise security operations. Experience working in a regulated or large-scale enterprise IT environment.
