Role Description:
The Vice President of Sales is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Carlsbad, CA, responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding market presence. This position oversees all sales activities, including developing and executing sales strategies, managing the sales team, and optimizing sales operations to meet and exceed targets. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading account management efforts, building and maintaining relationships with key customers and partners, and identifying new business opportunities across target markets. The role also involves collaborating with executive leadership on forecasting and budgeting, aligning sales initiatives with overall company objectives, and working closely with marketing and product teams to refine offerings and value propositions. The Vice President of Sales is expected to coach and develop sales talent, establish performance metrics, and ensure consistent, data-driven decision-making.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated expertise in Sales and Sales Management, with a track record of meeting or exceeding revenue goals.
Strong background in Account Management and Business Development, including cultivating long-term customer relationships and securing new accounts.
Experience in Sales Operations, including pipeline management, forecasting, analytics, and process optimization.
Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing sales teams, with strong mentoring and performance management skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with comfort engaging at executive and technical levels.
Strategic thinking capability, with experience in building go-to-market plans and entering new markets or segments.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is a plus.
Experience in energy storage, battery technology, cleantech, or a related technology industry is highly beneficial.
Ability to work on-site in Carlsbad, CA, and travel as needed to meet with customers, partners, and stakeholders.
