About the role

Job Description: Job Description
About the role: MJ Plumbing Contractors & Son Inc. is a growing, family-owned plumbing, heating, and cooling company. We're building our warehouse from the ground up — new racking, new labeling, and a real inventory system — and we're hiring the person who will help build it and eventually run it. This is not a stock-shelves-and-clock-out job. You'll start as our parts runner and shipping/receiving lead, and if you show ownership, you'll grow into managing the warehouse: setting the systems, controlling inventory accuracy, and directing material flow for the whole field team. If you want a career path in operations instead of a job, read on. What you'll do day to day:
  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments; match deliveries against purchase orders and flag shortages, damage, or wrong items
  • Sort received material into inventory or stage it for specific jobs
  • Stage replenishment and job material for technicians ahead of scheduled work
  • Run parts to job sites and assist techs with field deliveries using the company pickup
  • Put away leftover material returned from job sites so it re-enters stock instead of getting lost
  • Coordinate vendor returns and outgoing shipments, including credits and RMA paperwork
  • Own all warehouse waste: trash collection, weekly trash-out, and scrap metal recycling runs from job sites
  • Keep the warehouse broom-swept daily, tools organized and returned to their homes, and the shop bathroom clean
  • Maintain tools in working condition; flag repairs and replacements before they become downtime
  • Help design and implement our new inventory system — bin locations, labeling, min/max levels, cycle counts — as the buildout progresses
  • Other duties as assigned
What we're looking for:
  • Valid driver's license and a clean-enough record to operate a company vehicle
  • Reliable and punctual, with the initiative to manage your day and keep work moving on your own
  • Able to lift 50+ lbs consistently
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with a high standard for cleanliness and order in the shop
  • Interest in growing into a management role and taking real ownership of the warehouse
Nice to have:
  • Warehouse, trades, or construction experience
  • Familiarity with plumbing and HVAC parts, fittings, and equipment
  • Experience with Service
  • Titan or a similar field-service CRM/inventory platform
  • Forklift experience
  • Experience with purchase orders, receiving, or vendor returns
  • Growth path:
  • Start: parts runner, shipping and receiving, job staging.
  • Next: purchase order receiving accuracy, inventory counts, vendor relationships.
Goal: Warehouse Manager — owning inventory accuracy, material flow, and warehouse standards for the company.\nCompany DescriptionMJ Plumbing Contractors & Son Inc. is a growing, family-owned plumbing, heating, and cooling company in New Rochelle, NY. Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
