Shipping Supervisor
Location: Hamilton, Ohio 45011
Hours: Monday through Friday, approximately 7:00 AM–4:30 PMSalary Hourly, nonexempt position Around $31.35/hour to allow room for growth ($65,000)
Additional Info: Supervises 2–3 direct reports Team includes Freight Administrator and Material Handlers Oversees shipping operations, inventory accuracy, outbound order management, and inventory counts Partners with third-party transportation providers, warehouse services, and vendors Responsible for managing yard operations, including yard dogs and forklift operators
Must Haves: High school diploma At least 2 years of shipping management or supervisory experience Experience leading warehouse / yard teams and forklift operators Strong performance management experience (coaching, corrective action, accountability, employee development)Experience approving/managing employee timecards Knowledge of shipping and logistics procedures Strong leadership, communication, organization, and conflict-resolution skills Ability to multitask, prioritize, and maintain strong attention to detail Hands-on experience operating both indoor and outdoor forklifts Plusses Bachelor's degree Experience in manufacturing or distribution environments Day to Day Manage incoming and outgoing shipping activities Oversee outbound orders and track unfulfilled orders Manage finished goods and operating-supply inventory accuracy Conduct regular inventory reconciliation and inventory counts Direct finished goods to appropriate storage locations Inspect loading operations and ensure compliance with shipping specifications Determine truck load limits and prioritize shipping methods Resolve discrepancies between shipping teams and vendors Ensure adequate stock availability to reduce shortages Support hiring, training, performance management, and supervision of shipping personnel Manage employee timecards and attendance Oversee yard operations, yard dogs, and forklift activities Identify process improvements and support standardization efforts
