About the role

KEY ACCOUNTS SALES MANAGER, HALF SHAFT AND CV JOINTTHE PACKAGE- Base salary $150,000 - Target bonus 15%, rising to 30% maximum: target total cash of $172,500, up to $195,000 - Company car - Full benefits suite: medical, dental and 401k - Based in Troy, Michigan A global Tier 1 driveline manufacturer is building out its North American OEM business from its Troy office, and needs someone to lead that charge from the front. This is not a farming role, and it is not an RFQ response desk. The mandate is to open doors before the RFQ exists.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: Targeting OEM platforms and opening relationships before formal sourcing activity begins - Getting the company registered and qualified with purchasing and supplier development teams - Shaping the RFI stage and positioning for future bidder lists - Leading the quotation, the cost breakdown and the commercial negotiation - Driving opportunities through to nomination, program award and launch - Protecting and growing existing OEM accounts, including cost recovery on tariffs, raw materials and engineering changes WHAT THEY'RE LOOKING FOR- Around seven years or more in automotive OEM sales, business development, key account management, or on the buy side in purchasing, sourcing or commodity management - Direct half shaft, CV joint or driveline experience, strongly preferred - Real, current relationships with purchasing, sourcing and engineering at the Detroit Three, the Japanese and Korean transplants, or both - Genuine fluency in cost breakdowns, piece price, tooling and margin, because the commercial negotiation is yours to lead - Authorisation to work in the United States The incentive is weighted heavily toward new program nominations, 60% of it, with profitability and commercial recovery making up the rest. The first year target is $20 million in awarded annual sales. That tells you exactly what success looks like here, and it tells you this is a role for a hunter.

Before you apply

Applying takes about a minute. These four things decide how fast it moves after that.

Your profile is current

It's what we read first. Occupations, seniority and locations matter more than a long history.

Two examples you can talk through

Not a portfolio — just two pieces of work where you can explain the decisions and what you'd change.

A number in mind

What you're on now and what would make you move. We negotiate better when we know both.

Your notice period

Employers plan around it, and it's the question that stalls offers most often.

Once you apply, someone reads it and calls you before anything reaches the employer — usually within two working days.
