Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced FPGA Design/Development Engineer to support an R&D program in Owego, NY. The selected engineer will contribute to the development, integration, simulation, testing, and implementation of complex ASIC and FPGA-based systems. This role focuses primarily on FPGA design and development, including DSP, high-speed digital design, high-speed communications, SoC/embedded FPGA platforms, and hardware integration.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop FPGA/ASIC solutions for advanced R&D programs. Develop System Verilog/HDL-based RTL for FPGA platforms. Support DSP, high-speed digital, high-speed communication, and SoC implementations. Perform simulation, debugging, integration, and hardware testing. Work with Xilinx Vivado, Quartus, and/or Synopsys Synplify development tools. Use HDL simulators, waveform viewers, and coverage tools for design validation and debugging. Support HIL testing, JTAG, logic analyzers, and other FPGA test equipment. Develop scripts and automation to improve FPGA development workflows. Collaborate with Systems Architects, RF/Analog and Digital Circuit Designers, and ASIC/FPGA engineers. Support integration of embedded processors and COTS-based control platforms. Provide technical guidance and direction to junior engineers. Support development of complex systems incorporating high-speed networking technologies.
Required Qualifications:
Hands-on experience with FPGA design and RTL development. Strong proficiency in System Verilog. Experience with FPGA development tools such as Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus, or Synopsys Synplify. Experience with high-speed digital design and/or DSP.Experience with HDL simulation, waveform analysis, and debugging. Familiarity with FPGA hardware integration and test. Experience with JTAG, logic analyzers, or HIL test environments. Experience with version control and configuration management systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with UVM.Proficiency in C programming. Experience with SoC/embedded processors implemented on FPGA platforms. Experience with high-speed communications or networking. Experience developing automation/scripts for FPGA workflows. ASIC development experience. Aerospace/defense or other complex embedded systems experience. Important Note This is an FPGA Design/Development position, not a pure FPGA Verification role. Candidates should have strong hands-on experience designing and developing FPGA/RTL solutions.
