THE WORK: Lockheed Martin seeks an experienced senior leader to direct a large, high‐performance Manufacturing Engineering and Test Engineering organization that spans both first‐ and second‐shift operations (100 + personnel total, representing a mix of union‐represented and non‐represented employees). The factory team is responsible for the end‐to‐end production of advanced radar systems, missile launchers, and integrated combat system solutions. The Senior Manager will ensure safe, efficient, and on‐time delivery of these critical defense products while fostering a collaborative culture that respects the entire workforce.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & People Management:
  • Direct a combined Manufacturing Engineering and Test Engineering organization ( 100 + engineers, technicians, and support staff) across two shifts.
  • Provide inclusive leadership for both represented (union) and non‐represented employees, ensuring compliance with labor agreements and fostering a respectful workplace.
  • Develop talent pipelines, mentor senior engineers, and conduct performance reviews that align with Lockheed Martin's leadership principles. Manufacturing Engineering
  • Oversee design for manufacturability, process development, and continuous‐improvement initiatives for radars, launchers, and combat‐system integration hardware.
  • Drive implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies (e.g., additive manufacturing, robotics, digital twin) and integrate them into production lines
  • Test Engineering
  • Supervise test‐development, test‐facility operations, and validation activities for complex radar, launcher, and combat‐system products.
  • Coordinate test data analysis, reporting, and feedback loops to manufacturing engineering for design improvements.

Basic Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or related field. Experience 10+ years of progressive engineering leadership experience in aerospace/defense manufacturing environments. Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes (electrical and mechanical assembly, electronics, structural integration) and test methods for high‐performance defense systems. Experience with Lean, Six‐Sigma, and digital manufacturing tools (DFM, DFA, PLM). |Strong interpersonal skills to engage a diverse workforce and negotiate with labor representatives. Excellent oral and written communication; ability to convey complex technical concepts to senior leadership and external stakeholders.
Security Clearance: Active DoD Secret clearance (or higher) required; ability to obtain/maintain clearance as needed. Willingness to work flexible hours to support 24‐hour production cycles. Commitment to Lockheed Martin's Safety, Ethics, and Inclusion values. Desired Skills
Education: Advanced degree (M.S. or MBA) is strongly preferred. Proven track record managing large, multi‐shift teams ( 100 personnel) that include both union and non‐union labor forces. Direct experience with radar, missile launcher, or integrated combat system production and testing. Proven success delivering high‐volume, high‐complexity defense hardware on schedule and within cost. Experience with integrated product development across mechanical, electrical, and software domains. Demonstrated ability to lead cultural change initiatives that improve collaboration across all workforce groups. Knowledge of advanced test automation and data‐analytics platforms for rapid test‐cycle reduction. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
