About the role

The Opportunity: Our client, a growing precision aerospace manufacturer owned by a publicly traded industrial company, is looking for a hands-on Plant Controller to own the finance function at one of its production facilities. You will be the go-to financial partner for the plant’s leadership team while also working closely with the division finance leader. Beyond keeping the books accurate and compliant, you will use numbers to shape decisions on pricing, investment, cost and growth. What You’ll Do: Strategic Finance & Planning Act as the senior finance voice at the plant, advising site leadership and coordinating with division finance. Own the annual operating plan, rolling forecasts and multi-year outlook. Turn financial results into clear, practical recommendations that lift margins, cash generation and efficiency. Design and maintain a scorecard of operational and financial metrics. Spot risks and upside early and bring solutions to the leadership team. Controllership & Reporting Run the monthly close, account reconciliations and management reporting. Make sure results are accurate, on time and prepared in line with GAAP and corporate policy. Keep internal controls strong and SOX-compliant; act as the main point of contact for internal and external auditors. Contribute to the parent company’s public reporting requirements. Oversee inventory valuation, standard costing and variance analysis. Work with operations to plan and execute cycle counts and the year-end physical inventory. Cross-Functional Partnership Work side by side with production, purchasing, quality, HR and sales. Build business cases and analysis for pricing, product mix, capital spending and cost-reduction projects. Balance financial discipline with support for growth initiatives. People Leadership Coach and grow a small accounting and finance team. Build a culture of ownership, continuous improvement and development. Keep communication open between the plant and the wider finance organization. What You Bring: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA or CMA strongly preferred.7+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience, ideally in a manufacturing setting. Solid command of GAAP, cost accounting and financial analysis. Experience managing and developing staff. Strong ERP background and advanced Excel skills. The ability to explain financial topics clearly to non-finance leaders and influence without formal authority.
Nice to Have: Experience in a public company environment with direct SOX responsibility. Background with Infor or a similar manufacturing ERP.Exposure to aerospace or other highly regulated manufacturing.
