Location: Fort Worth, TX Contract: 13 weeks, with possibility of extension Shift: Evening, 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM Schedule: Weekdays and weekends; rotating weekends required Candidate Requirement: Local candidates only Experience: Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
Job Summary: The Pharmacy Technician assists licensed pharmacists in providing pharmacy services to patients, hospital staff, and the community. Responsibilities include prescription processing, medication preparation, inventory management, recordkeeping, and customer service under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
Key Responsibilities: Assist patients, nurses, and medical staff with prescription drop-off, pickup, and inquiries. Provide information regarding medication availability, dosage forms, and refill incoming calls, resolve prescription-related issues, and request prescriptions from providers. Fill prescriptions, including selecting, counting, prepackaging, reconstituting, and labeling medications and medical supplies. Process controlled-substance prescriptions, maintain accurate inventory counts, and complete required, clean, and maintain medication counting equipment. Participate in medication audits, quality control, and performance improvement activities. Check expired medications and support pharmacy safety accurate records and comply with pharmacy policies, hospital procedures, and regulatory standards. Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant pharmacy technician experience
  • Basic knowledge of mathematics, the metric system, chemistry, and medical terminology
  • Knowledge of office procedures, filing, and recordkeeping
  • Strong telephone, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Must be comfortable working evening shifts and rotating weekends
  • Required Certifications & Licensure
  • Current PTCB Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification
  • Current Texas State Board of Pharmacy (TSBP) Pharmacy Technician Registration OR current Texas Pharmacy Intern License/Registration
Candidates with only Pharmacy Technician Trainee registration will not be accepted. Dress CodeScrubs of any color are permitted, provided they are kid-friendly. Jeans are not allowed.
Additional Information: Retail pharmacy operates seven days a week, from 8:00 AM to midnight. Weekend rotations are required. All technical duties are performed under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
