Autism Spectrum Disorder (CSS) Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and in harmony with the goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the like to communicate these objectives to students. Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved. Strives to implement, by instruction and action, the District's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives. Exceptional Student Education Positions As a district, we have a variety of ESE positions that have varying qualifications. Below, you will find our most common school-based ESE positions. Minimum Qualifications: The minimum qualifications for Autism, Deaf/Hard of Hearing, EBD, Gifted, PLA, SLA, Physically Impaired, VE and PreK-Handicapped are as follows: Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: None required. Salary is based on verified years of teaching experience.
Certifications & Licenses: Must be eligible for Florida Department of Education Certification in appropriate subject area. The minimum qualifications for the remaining school-based ESE positions are listed in the chart below.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Knowledge of subject content Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills Strong time management skills Strong organizational skills Strong word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software skills Ability to plan and implement a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students Ability to devote additional hours beyond the workday for grading papers, preparation of lesson plans, etc. Ability to manage students Ability to manage multiple tasks
