About the role

Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC/CSAC-A)EPIC Health Partners is seeking Certified Substance Abuse Counselors (CSAC/CSAC-A) to join our growing team as group facilitators within our ARTS program. This role provides structured group education, relapse-prevention support, and person-centered interventions for individuals participating in substance use treatment services. If you are passionate about guiding individuals through their recovery journey using trauma-informed, evidence-based practices, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities: Facilitate psychoeducational, skills-building, and therapeutic group sessions in accordance with ASAM and program requirements. Support individuals in identifying goals and applying recovery skills. Maintain group structure, safety, and engagement. Monitor participant engagement and communicate concerns requiring clinical or supervisory attention. Collaborate with clinical supervisors, case managers, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care. Complete accurate, timely documentation, including group notes and attendance, in compliance with DBHDS, DMAS, and EHP standards. Provide crisis support and service coordination as needed. Participate in meetings, supervision, and ongoing professional development.
Qualifications:
  • Active registration with the Virginia Board of Counseling as a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC)
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience providing substance use and/or mental health services in individual, family, or group settings.
  • Knowledge of ASAM criteria, relapse-prevention strategies, and evidence-based addiction treatment approaches.
  • Ability to facilitate therapeutic and psychoeducational groups.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Current certification in CPR and First Aid.
  • Verification of Tuberculosis (TB) screening.
