Dietary AideManual Labor Warren, MI, US 2 days ago Requisition ID: 1096 Dietary Aide Position SummaryJoin the team atTrillium Behavioral Healthas a Dietary Aide and play an important role in creating a safe, welcoming, and positive experience for our patients. In this role, you’ll support daily meal service for adult patients by preparing and serving meals, ensuring dietary needs are followed, maintaining food-safety standards, and keeping kitchen and dining areas clean and organized. You’ll work closely with nursing, Mental Health Technicians, and other members of the team to provide respectful, reliable service in a behavioral-health environment. This position is in person, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day. Specific days will be discussed during interview process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: -Prepare, reheat, and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner to patients according to established meal schedules. Ensure each patient receives the correct meal based on dietary needs, allergies, texture modifications, and fluid restrictions. Receive food deliveries, verify quantities and product condition, and properly store refrigerated meals and supplies. Monitor and document food, refrigerator, and meal temperatures to maintain food-safety standards. Maintain organized food and supply inventory and notify leadership when items need to be reordered. Clean and sanitize kitchen, dining, food-preparation, and dishwashing areas before and after meal service. Follow proper food-handling, sanitation, infection-prevention, and cross-contamination procedures. Maintain control of utensils, food-service items, supplies, chemicals, and waste to support a safe behavioral-health environment. Provide courteous and respectful service while interacting with adult and geriatric psychiatric patients. Communicate and coordinate with nursing, Mental Health Technicians (MHTs), dietary staff, and hospital leadership. Complete required temperature logs, cleaning records, inventory documentation, and other food-service records accurately and on time. Immediately report food-safety concerns, equipment issues, patient-safety concerns, or other unsafe conditions. Follow all hospital policies regarding patient confidentiality, safety, emergency procedures, and food service. Participate in required training and maintain applicable food-safety competencies. Perform other related dietary-support duties as assigned.
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required; ServSafe certification required or must be obtained within the hospital-established timeframe after hire. Previous food-service experience is preferred, and healthcare or behavioral-health experience is a plus.
