About the Role: A To B Communications LLC is looking for a skilled Fiber Optic Cabling Technician to join our growing team in Berlin, CT. This is a hands-on role where you'll play a key part in building and maintaining the high-speed communication infrastructure that businesses and communities depend on. Responsibilities: Install, terminate, and splice fiber optic cables in commercial, industrial, and residential environments Perform fiber optic testing using OTDR, power meters, and other diagnostic equipment Pull, route, and dress fiber and low-voltage cabling through conduit, cable trays, and pathways Troubleshoot and repair fiber optic network issues to minimize downtime Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings for cable installations Maintain accurate documentation of installations, test results, and project progress Adhere to industry standards including TIA/EIA and OSHA safety regulations on all job sites
Requirements: 1–2+ years of hands-on experience in fiber optic installation and termination Proficiency with OTDR testing, fusion splicing, and fiber polishing techniques Experience with single-mode and multimode fiber optic systems Ability to read and follow technical diagrams, blueprints, and work orders Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently Comfortable working at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying outdoor conditions
