About the role
Part-Time School Store StaffThis position is responsible for performing student/customer purchases, customer assistance, and clerical duties in the school store. This is a part time, school year position which may include some hours on weekends when there are school events. The position will work 10 hours per week when school is in session from 11:00am - 1:00pm weekdays and some days for training and additional coverage, as needed. The position is scheduled to work no more than 300 hours during the academic year. Assist customers with purchases. Operate cash register and other store equipment. Using the Blue Card system, handle cash transactions for students. Reconcile daily cash ledgers. Prepare displays of merchandise and assist with relocation of stock when needed. May assist with physical inventories. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Comfort working with students and a variety of personalities. Ability to keep accurate records. Basic knowledge of computer skills. Environment: Work is performed in an indoor/office environment where the noise level is quiet. Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods of time; ability to occasionally lift of up 30 lbs.; ability to bend and stoop; ability to lift arms overhead; sufficient manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate office machinery including cash register and computer keyboard. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. (Standard) Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Minimum of one year experience in retail merchandising or customer service. High school degree. Proficiency in computers. Valid driver's license.
