About the role
- Set up and operate dialysis machines, ensuring proper functioning and troubleshoot machine issues when necessary while following safety protocols
- Initialization and termination of dialysis treatment via AVG and/or AVF under the supervision of a Registered Nurse
- Capable of checking the water system for Chlorine/Chloramine
- Capable of checking the water system as per re-established parameters and will report any deviations to the charge nurse
- Demonstrate the knowledge and ability to mix and transfer Bicarbonate in the central delivery system
- Disinfection of Bicarbonate Tank and Hemodialysis Machine
- Checking the water system for the Chlorine/Chloramine
- Ensuring the enforcement of all policies and procedures including patient's bill of rights
- Have knowledge of emergency procedures. Able to function in an emergency situation under the director of the person in charge:
- Understand CPR protocols, and can assist during an emergency situation
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Dialysis Technician Certification by a state certified program and national commercially available certification program (CHHT) required 1 year Dialysis experience requiredCPR required
- Previous experience in a dialysis setting required
- Knowledge of dialysis equipment, treatments, and patient care protocols.
- Strong understanding of infection control and safety standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high standard of care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle stressful situations with patience and professionalism
