About the role
- -Outbound Prospecting
- Execute targeted outbound campaigns across phone, email, and LinkedIn to net new prospects within law firms and corporate IP departments
- Build and maintain prospecting lists aligned with Sun IP’s ideal customer profile and territory plans
- Personalize outreach with research on target accounts, individual buyer pain points, and current market dynamics
- Maintain a consistent volume of daily prospecting activity to sustain pipeline coverage-Discovery and Qualification
- Conduct introductory conversations with prospects to surface IP service needs and pain points
- Qualify opportunities against defined criteria including buyer authority, current provider, portfolio size, and timing
- Qualify inbound leads sourced through marketing, events, and other channels using the same criteria applied to outbound prospects
- Capture detailed notes and context to enable a smooth handoff to Senior Account Executives-Meeting Generation and Handoff
- Set qualified meetings between prospects and Senior Account Executives
- Brief Senior Account Executives on prospect background, pain points, and agreed next steps
- Own pre-meeting confirmation and post-meeting follow-up until the Senior Account Executive takes over the deal-Event Support and Field Activities
- Attend industry conferences and trade shows in support of the Sales team
- Staff booths and represent Sun IP to event attendees
- Conduct on-site outreach, capture lead information, and schedule follow-up conversations
- Partner with Marketing and Market Development to maximize lead generation at events-Pipeline Tracking and CRM Hygiene
- Maintain accurate activity logging, contact records, and opportunity stage information in CRMFollow structured prospecting cadences and outreach sequences
- Participate in regular pipeline reviews, territory planning, and outbound strategy discussions
- Minimum of 3 years of sales experience, including outbound prospecting or business development
- Experience in intellectual property services (patent and trademark renewals, filings, translations, recordals) is strongly preferred
- Experience selling into or working with law firms and corporate IP teams is strongly preferred
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding meeting setting and qualified pipeline targets
- Comfort with high-volume outbound activity across multiple channels
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of activity, resilience, and consistency
- Curiosity and discipline to research prospects and personalize outreach
- Ability to operate effectively in a structured, metrics-driven sales environment
- Proficiency with Salesforce, Outreach, LeadIQ, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator
- Coachability and growth mindset

- Maintain awareness of IP industry trends and market developments
- Willingness and ability to travel 30 to 35% of working time for conferences, trade shows, and industry events
- Occasional travel for internal meetings and team collaboration
