About the role
Key Responsibilities:Lead and own all cost accounting activities, including standard costing, inventory valuation, and variance analysisBuild and implement the company's cost accounting framework, policies, and procedures from the ground upEstablish BOMs, product costing structures, and inventory tracking processesPartner cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, and Finance to ensure accurate cost visibility and reportingDesign and improve inventory controls, including cycle counts and physical inventory processesOversee and enhance month-end close processes related to inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS)Evaluate current QuickBooks environment and recommend improvements or system enhancements to support scalingDevelop reporting and KPIs to provide insights into manufacturing costs, margins, and operational efficiencyIdentify process gaps and implement automation or scalable solutions where appropriateSupport leadership with financial analysis and decision-making related to cost optimizationQualifications:8–12+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience with a strong focus on cost accountingProven experience building or significantly enhancing cost accounting functions in manufacturing and semi-conductor environmentsDeep expertise in inventory accounting, standard costing, BOMs, and variance analysisExperience working in early-stage or high-growth companies with evolving processesHands-on experience with QuickBooks (or similar ERP systems) and ability to assess system limitationsStrong cross-functional collaboration skills with operations and supply chain teamsAbility to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-paced environmentCPA or equivalent experience preferred
