Role Description: This is a full-time, on-site Physician Assistant role based in McAllen, TX. The Physician Assistant will provide direct patient care under the supervision of orthopedic physicians, including conducting histories and physicals, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and assisting with treatment planning. Daily responsibilities include managing clinic visits, performing joint and musculoskeletal evaluations, providing pre- and post-operative patient education, and documenting encounters in the medical record. The role may involve assisting in minor procedures, coordinating follow-up care, and collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other team members to optimize patient outcomes. The Physician Assistant is expected to maintain up-to-date clinical knowledge, follow practice protocols, and contribute to a respectful and inclusive care environment.
Qualifications: Current Physician Assistant license in the state of Texas and graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program. NCCPA certification (or eligibility) and compliance with all regulatory and credentialing requirements. Clinical experience or strong interest in orthopedics, musculoskeletal medicine, or related surgical specialties. Ability to perform comprehensive patient assessments, interpret diagnostic studies, and develop evidence-based care plans. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and a multidisciplinary team. Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) documentation and basic medical office technologies. Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care, cultural sensitivity, and maintaining confidentiality and professional ethics. Willingness to work on-site full time in McAllen, TX, with flexibility to support clinic schedules and patient needs.
