Role Description: The Payroll Manager at Trestle Co. is a part-time, remote role responsible for overseeing end-to-end payroll processes and ensuring timely, accurate compensation for team members. Day-to-day tasks include managing payroll runs, verifying timekeeping data, maintaining employee records, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations. The role also involves handling payroll tax filings, administering garnishments, coordinating with benefits providers, and resolving payroll-related inquiries from employees. The Payroll Manager will collaborate with finance and HR to support audits, improve payroll procedures, and implement best practices. This position requires maintaining high standards of confidentiality, attention to detail, and clear communication in a remote environment.
Qualifications: Demonstrated expertise in Payroll Administration and Payroll Management, including end-to-end processing and compliance. Strong knowledge of Garnishments and Payroll Taxes, with experience applying relevant laws and regulations. Experience managing Employee Benefits as they relate to payroll, including deductions and contributions. Proficiency with payroll software and HRIS systems; strong Excel or spreadsheet skills. Excellent analytical, organizational, and time-management abilities, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain payroll matters to non-specialists. Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage confidential information, and meet deadlines consistently. Relevant education in accounting, finance, business administration, or equivalent professional experience; payroll certification (e.g., CPP or FPC) is a plus.
