About the Role: As Plant Manager, you'll oversee all aspects of daily operations, including production, maintenance, scheduling, logistics, and quality. You'll be responsible for maintaining operational efficiency, developing and supporting employees, and ensuring the facility meets its safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives. This position requires a strong, hands-on leader who can make sound decisions, build trust across teams, and create an environment focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Plant Manager Responsibilities: Lead all daily manufacturing operations, ensuring performance across safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Provide steady, visible leadership while maintaining employee engagement, accountability, and productivity. Foster a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety requirements. Develop, coach, and support salaried and hourly employees, building trust and strong working relationships throughout the facility. Drive operational efficiency through Lean manufacturing, 5S, continuous improvement, and standardized processes. Collaborate with Supply Chain, Procurement, Customer Service, Engineering, and other departments to achieve business objectives. Lead daily production meetings, KPI reviews, and Gemba walks to identify challenges and drive solutions. Oversee preventative and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime. Manage plant resources, labor, and operating expenses while identifying opportunities to improve productivity and control costs. Maintain compliance with quality management systems and applicable regulatory standards. Use structured problem-solving to address production, equipment, and quality challenges. Partner closely with senior leadership on operational priorities, workforce planning, and business initiatives. Foster a positive, accountable work environment through clear communication, consistent leadership, and employee engagement.
Plant Manager Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related technical field preferred.10+ years of progressive leadership experience in a manufacturing environment. Proven ability to lead large manufacturing teams, develop employees, and drive operational performance. Experience managing plant budgets, controlling operating costs, and driving financial and operational performance. Previous experience as a Plant Manager, Operations Manager, or in a comparable senior manufacturing leadership role. Experience managing large, complex manufacturing operations, ideally with 100+ employees. Strong understanding of Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. Demonstrated ability to manage safety, quality, production, maintenance, and cost objectives. Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. A hands-on, adaptable leadership style with the ability to build trust and accountability across all levels of an organization.
