Job description:Our client, a global automotive electronics manufacturer specializing in in-vehicle connectivity and charging systems, is seeking a Wireless Charging Design Engineer to join their engineering team. The organization designs and manufactures solutions such as media hubs, USB charging modules, wireless chargers, and high-speed data systems used by leading automotive OEMs worldwide, supporting products from concept through full-scale production.The Wireless Charging Design Engineer will serve as the resident Subject Matter Expert in Design and Development of Next Level Wireless Charging Systems. The WC Design Engineer will concentrate specifically on the design and development of Hardware for Wireless Charging Systems, understand Wireless Charging Protocols, serve as an attending member in Wireless Charging organizations (such as WPC), serve on committees and councils related to the companys core Wireless Charging Competencies.The WC Design Engineer will serve as a key contributor in a Dedicated Wireless Charging Technology team that will be solely focused on Research and Development for the future of wireless charging within the company, including but not limited to, becoming an expert on the next level Qi Standards through in depth review, understanding the next level technologies through investigation of supplier technology roadmaps, creating alliances with supplier technology partners (silicon, architecture and equipment suppliers).The WC Engineer will be integral in executing the Companys Wireless Charger Roadmap, up to and including the development of demos for the sales team. Travel may be required to potential customers location for Technical Design Reviews, Technical meetings and Technology Roadmap presentations.Key ResponsibilitiesBecome resident expert in Electrical design and development of Wireless Charging systems while interfacing with the Software Development ExpertsServe as a principal on a Dedicated Wireless Charging Technology Team that works closely with hardware, software, and systems experts to ensure seamless integration of wireless charging systemsDevelop and optimize wireless charging solutions for various applications (e.g., smartphones, etc.)Design and implement wireless power transfer (WPT) systems, including transmitter and receiver coils, power electronics, and control circuitsUtilize simulation and modeling tools to analyze and optimize system performanceStay up to date on the latest developments in wireless charging technology and standardsContinuously improve the efficiency and performance of wireless charging systemsIdentify and implement strategies to reduce charging time and improve power transfer efficiencyDevelop and implement new wireless charging technologies to meet evolving market demandsWork with technology partners to understand their roadmaps for new architecture, new standards, and accompanying equipment, etc. Communicate technical information clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (Masters preferred)8+ years of experience in Electrical/Electronics DesignSolid EE fundamentals in both analog and digital design with focus on Power ElectronicsSolid fundamentals in modeling, data collection, data analysis, and statistical analysis toolsCircuit level simulation experience in EE simulation platformsExperience in working with requirements tools Automotive standards knowledge (ASPICE 3.1 a priority; others, (ISO26262, Functional Safety, etc.), a plus Why is This a Great Opportunity: This is an opportunity to lead the design and development of next-generation wireless charging technology, combining hands-on hardware engineering with research, prototyping, and product innovation.
