Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager📍 Central California | Relocation Assistance AvailableA leading food manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager to lead food safety, quality systems, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives within a large-scale food production environment. This position is responsible for managing site quality assurance operations, food safety programs, regulatory compliance activities, customer requirements, quality systems, and team development while ensuring products consistently meet company, customer, and regulatory expectations. Key Responsibilities:
Lead food safety and quality programs throughout manufacturing operations. Ensure compliance with USDA, FDA, HACCP, SSOP, GMP, SQF, and customer requirements. Manage site Food Safety and Quality Assurance personnel. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, food safety, and process control. Maintain audit readiness and oversee internal, customer, and regulatory audits. Lead corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities. Manage non-conformance investigations and root cause analysis efforts. Support supplier quality and raw material compliance programs. Oversee environmental monitoring, sanitation verification, and validation programs. Develop and track quality KPIs and food safety metrics. Partner with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Sanitation, Supply Chain, and Leadership Teams. Ensure customer specifications and product standards are consistently met. Promote a culture of food safety, quality ownership, accountability, and regulatory compliance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology, or a related scientific field preferred.5+ years of Food Safety and Quality Assurance leadership experience within food manufacturing. Strong knowledge of: HACCPSQFGMPUSDA and/or FDA regulations Food Safety Systems Experience managing audits, CAPA programs, and regulatory inspections. Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong communication, problem-solving, and team development skills. Experience in protein, meat, poultry, dairy, beverage, or other highly regulated food manufacturing environments strongly preferred. Why Consider This Opportunity? High-impact leadership role.
