Job TitleSupervising System Operations TechnicianJob DescriptionUnder the direction of an assigned System Operations General Manager, this position is responsible for supervising System Operations technicians in the assigned geographical area.Essential/Typical DutiesRecruit, interview and train new employeesWork in the field with assigned technicians on a routine basisHold monthly safety meetings and enforce safety guidelines and proceduresAnswer technical questions from field mechanics, engineering, PM personnelConduct Site Safety Inspections (SSI's) on construction siteCounsel technicians when either Customer relations issues arise or internal Company procedures have not been followedBalance workloads to keep appropriate skill level on jobs as neededManage staffing and vacation requests to assure we fulfill project obligationsMentor, train and develop future supervisors (succession planning) to meet current and future business needs.Coordinate and communicate effectively with different departments within ACCOStartup and mechanical functional testing of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and plumbing equipment.Mechanical system commissioning and testing.Plumbing system commissioning and testing.Complete Startup and commissioning Warranty Supervisor with assigning technicians to warranty calls when the warranty technician is not availableReview field technician startup reports and submit to admin staffRead and interpret Mechanical and plumbing prints, specifications and other construction contract documentsMaintain proper documentation of daily activities using project specific reporting proceduresCollaboration with team members and other construction tradesEnsure projects are completed on scheduleConfirm company QA/QC protocols are metAttend job site meeting and provide input to GC, PM and GFImplementation of Safety Department's protocolsImplementation of Acco policies and proceduresSupport System Operations General Manager with assessing project schedules and manpower requirementsOther duties as assigned by the System Operations General Manager.Position Requirements (Skills, Work Experience, Education, Certifications, Licenses, etc.):High school diploma, Certificate of G.E.D, or certificate of completion in an apprenticeship program in HVAC & refrigeration, or similar trade or technical program completion.Four or more years as a commercial HVAC Journeyperson TechnicianSelf-motivated, energetic, ambitious and have a positive attitude.Good written and oral communication skills.Strong technical and troubleshooting skills.Ability to work independently and in collaboration with other technicians/team membersAbility to utilize a personal computer.Occasional overtime and weekends will be requiredWillingness and ability to attend ACCO and Union training sessions (signatory sponsorship will be provided to non-signatory applicants hired for the position).Valid (non-commercial) driver's license with MVR that meets ACCO's risk insurance standards.Competencies Areas Needed:Strategic Thinking Demonstrates the ability to see the big picture, effectively assesses all aspects of an issue and anticipates several steps ahead.
