- Evaluate injuries, administer first aid, and determine immediate medical needs during practices and sporting events.
- Rehabilitation & Conditioning:
- Develop and implement comprehensive rehabilitation and reconditioning programs for injured athletes to safely return to play.
- Event Coverage:
- Provide on-site athletic training coverage for home and away athletic events, which requires flexible scheduling including evenings and weekends.
- Medical Documentation:
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date injury records and treatment logs.
- Compliance & Paperwork:
- Oversee the collection and clearance of required pre‑participation physicals and state athletic association (e.g., UIL) participation forms.
- Collaboration:
- Communicate effectively with coaching staff, parents, and school administration regarding athlete health and participation status.
- Board of Certification (BOC) credentialed as a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC).Licensure:
- Eligible for or currently holding a valid state Athletic Trainer License (as required by your state).Experience:
- Previous experience in a high school or collegiate athletic training setting is preferred.
