Position Summary:
We are seeking an Electrical Estimator to support preconstruction and develop accurate, competitive estimates for complex projects. Working with Estimators and Senior Estimators, this role reviews project documents, prepares quantity takeoffs, obtains pricing, and contributes to winning proposal strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the full estimating cycle with guidance from a Senior Estimator.
Review drawings and specifications for scope, completeness, and required information.
Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs, unit pricing, cost estimates, and competitive proposals.
Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
Present estimates for review by preconstruction leadership.
Participate in design-assist project stages and contribute innovative estimating strategies.
Mentor and support Junior Estimators through hands-on training.
Meet critical deadlines, maintain accuracy and confidentiality, and periodically visit jobsites.
Qualifications:
Experience in electrical construction estimating, construction engineering, or construction management.
Experience preparing large healthcare and/or hyperscale data center electrical construction estimates.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, standards, and specifications.
Proficiency in Excel, Word, Bluebeam, Accubid, AutoCAD, and PowerPoint; estimating and scheduling software experience is a plus.
Strong math, communication, problem-solving, time-management, and organizational skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively and demonstrate leadership potential.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred; 5+ years of electrical construction experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
