SCADA Engineer
Location: Palm Beach, FLAbout the Role We are seeking an experienced SCADA Engineer with strong utilities-domain experience to support SCADA/GMS/EMS systems for a major client.
Required Qualifications: 5+ years of progressive experience configuring, testing, or supporting SCADA, GMS, or EMS systems. Utilities domain experience is required. Hands-on experience with Hitachi Energy Network Manager (formerly ABB Network Manager) is strongly required. Experience with SCADA/GMS database modeling, including: Point creation Asset hierarchies Equipment templates Communications Calculations Alarms Displays Database promotion through controlled environments Working knowledge of: DNP3ICCP/TASE.2IEC 61850 Modbus Utility telemetry concepts Understanding of addressing, polling, scan rates, data quality, timestamps, scaling, latency, and failover. Experience developing and executing integration and regression test plans in laboratory and field environments. Experience documenting test results, managing defects, and verifying operational acceptance. Experience creating or maintaining HMI displays, one-line diagrams, tabular displays, alarms, thresholds, deadbands, calculated points, historian feeds, and external telemetry interfaces. Strong troubleshooting experience across databases, communications, telemetry, displays, alarms, calculations, and interfaces. Experience with root-cause analysis and corrective actions. Knowledge of naming standards, units-of-measure conventions, quality coding, configuration control, access controls, change management, backups, rollback procedures, and audit documentation. Ability to interpret control narratives, point lists, communications drawings, one-line diagrams, interface requirements, and vendor technical documentation. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple site configurations. Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across technical and operational teams and communicate defects, risks, status, and recommendations. Location Candidates should be able to work from a client office convenient to them in the Palm Beach, FL area.
Ideal Candidate: The ideal candidate has hands-on utility control-center experience, particularly with Hitachi Energy Network Manager / ABB Network Manager, and can demonstrate production experience configuring, testing, troubleshooting, and supporting SCADA/GMS/EMS environments.
