About the role
Position Summary:
The Electrical Engineer will design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and improve complex power conversion and power management systems for military/aerospace and industrial applications. This role is heavily focused on AC/DC and DC/DC power supplies, UPS systems, inverters, power distribution, PCB/electrical hardware design, and ruggedized electronics. The engineer will work from customer requirements through design, testing, compliance, documentation, and production release. The position also provides technical support to Sales and works closely with Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and other cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop complex electrical and power management systems. Design and troubleshoot AC/DC and DC/DC switch-mode power supplies, UPS systems, inverters, and power distribution systems. Develop new designs and modify existing electrical/electronic products and circuitry. Select electrical components based on performance, specifications, manufacturability, reliability, and cost. Develop circuit topologies and design approaches for new and existing products. Translate customer and marketing requirements into electrical designs and technical solutions. Support Sales with technical proposals for new power electronics projects, including projects without existing reference designs. Design and coordinate PCB, electrical hardware, wiring, and related documentation through product release. Conduct design analysis, testing, troubleshooting, and root-cause investigations. Develop test procedures, test fixtures, and validation methods. Support product compliance with customer requirements, company standards, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. Design for EMI/EMC, thermal management, safety, reliability, shock/vibration, temperature, humidity, and other environmental requirements. Drive improvements in standardization, reliability, maintainability, manufacturability, productivity, and cost. Evaluate and integrate new electrical and power electronics technologies. Prepare technical documentation, manuals, specifications, and engineering instructions. Coordinate with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams through production release. Provide technical leadership and delegate work to other engineers as needed.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or related physical science/technical field 5+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience 3–5+ years of experience with applicable industry standards and engineering/CAD/simulation tools Experience developing and testing power electronics or power conversion equipment Experience with UPS systems strongly preferred
