Who You Are: The Senior Manager, Site Merchandising is accountable for end-to-end commerce performance across the full site funnel — from homepage and collection pages through product detail pages and cross-category customer experiences such as gift shops, trend edits, and seasonal storytelling moments. This role demands a balance of art and science: a strong understanding of brand direction and aesthetic, a keen sense of the competitive landscape and fashion trends, and the analytical rigor to translate financial goals, customer insights, product priorities, and digital performance into actions that drive sales, conversion, profitability, and customer engagement. A passionate advocate for the customer, this person makes decisions by synthesizing multiple inputs — financial performance, web analytics, customer data, and voice of the customer — to continuously improve the digital shopping experience. They will partner closely with Merchandising, Planning, Marketing, Creative, Product Management, UX, Technology, Web Analytics, Operations, and CRM to optimize the business and deliver a compelling, brand-right customer experience. The Senior Manager will serve as a key ecommerce voice within the broader organization, driving a culture of accountability, customer-centricity, and continuous improvement.
What You’ll Do: Own the Business Operate as the owner of the ecommerce business with full accountability for sales, margin, conversion, traffic, AOV, and customer growth KPIs. Own the end-to-end site experience across every key touchpoint: homepage, navigation, collection pages, product detail pages, search, and cross-category experiences (gift guides, trend shops, editorial features).Translate financial targets and seasonal priorities into clear, actionable ecommerce strategies. Monitor daily and weekly performance, identifying risks and opportunities and driving swift action to improve results. Lead regular business recaps and provide clear performance insights and recommendations to leadership. Balance Art and Science to Drive Commercial Growth Maintain a strong understanding of brand direction and ensure the site delivers with fashion authority, informed by a keen awareness of the competitive landscape and market trends. Identify and activate opportunities across product, traffic, merchandising, pricing, promotion, conversion, and customer retention. Partner with Buying & Planning and Merchandising to maximize inventory productivity, product availability, and seasonal opportunities. Serve as a customer advocate, leveraging financial performance data, web analytics, customer insights, and voice of the customer to inform every decision. Continuously evaluate performance and prioritize the highest-impact opportunities with a clear commercial rationale. Lead the Digital Customer Experience Own the onsite commercial strategy across navigation, search, merchandising, content, storytelling, and the full customer journey — ensuring the experience is both brand-right and conversion-optimized. Drive a disciplined test-and-learn agenda in close partnership with UX, Product Management, and Web Analytics, focused on conversion, customer experience, and commercial growth. Ensure learnings translate into measurable improvements and are shared across the organization. Ensure ecommerce launches, campaigns, and seasonal moments are executed with a high level of quality, speed, and brand integrity. Thrive in a Cross-Functional, Matrixed Organization Serve as a key ecommerce business partner across Merchandising, Buying & Planning, Marketing, Creative, CRM, Product Management, UX, Technology, Web Analytics, Operations, and Customer Care. Align cross-functional partners around ecommerce priorities, product launches, campaigns, inventory opportunities, and customer initiatives. Build strong relationships and drive accountability across teams, ensuring priorities translate into results. Influence across and up — effectively communicate the ecommerce perspective to peers, senior stakeholders, and cross-functional leadership to build alignment and drive action. Build, Mentor, and Develop a High-Performing Team Lead, coach, and develop ecommerce talent, creating a culture of ownership, accountability, commercial thinking, and intellectual curiosity. Actively mentor and develop direct reports, building their capabilities and preparing them for increased responsibility. Establish clear priorities and operating rhythms that enable the team to move with speed, focus, and confidence. Identify opportunities to strengthen the team’s ecommerce expertise and cross-functional fluency. You’ll Need to Have: 8+ years of progressive ecommerce experience, ideally within fashion, luxury, retail, or consumer brands. Demonstrated success driving ecommerce sales, conversion, customer growth, and overall business performance. Strong commercial orientation with the ability to connect digital performance to broader business and financial objectives. A balance of brand sensibility and analytical rigor — someone who can evaluate a homepage for storytelling and brand impact as readily as they can diagnose a conversion drop. A strong sense of the competitive landscape, fashion trends, and market dynamics, with the ability to translate that awareness into site strategy. Customer-first mindset with experience using financial data, web analytics, customer data, and voice of the customer to drive decisions. Hands-on experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) and a strong understanding of ecommerce technology, site operations, and digital platforms. Strong understanding of ecommerce merchandising, site experience, analytics, and digital marketing. Highly analytical with the ability to move quickly from data → insight → action. Proven ability to influence cross-functional partners and drive results in a highly collaborative, matrixed organization. Demonstrated ability to lead across, influence upward, and mentor and develop team members. Strong communication, presentation, and storytelling skills with the ability to clearly articulate business opportunities and recommendations. A hands-on, entrepreneurial leadership style with a bias toward action and accountability. A test-and-learn orientation with comfort iterating quickly in partnership with UX, Product, and Analytics.
