Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Programmer with a background in medical, aerospace, or precision micro machining to support the production of intricate development components, focusing on speed and accuracy. The ideal candidate should possess experience with Siemens NX and ideally have hands-on familiarity with GF (Agie Charmilles/Mikron) CNC machines and Heidenhain controllers. This role is crucial in translating complex CAD models into efficient, accurate toolpaths. Responsibilities: · Develop and optimize CNC programs for high-precision machining using Siemens NX.· Program and support machining of components on GF (Agie Charmilles) CNC machines with Heidenhain control.· Interpret 2D/3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and surface data.· CAD modeling to support CAM processes as required.· Collaborate closely with engineers and designers to ensure manufacturability and design intent.· Perform setup and prove-out of prototype parts, making necessary program or toolpath adjustments.· Effectively communicate and collaborate with other programmers to find solutions and define standards.· Determine and implement best practices for tooling, speeds/feeds, and machining strategies.· Maintain accurate documentation for programs, tool lists, and setup instructions. Ensure strict adherence to precision and quality standards.· Assist in cleaning and maintaining shop equipment.
Requirements: · Hands-on experience with Siemens NX; or enough exposure to be able to learn quickly.· 5+ years of CNC mill programming experience· 3+ years of 5-axis programming experience· Deep knowledge hard materials and surface finish requirements.· Strong attention to detail and ability to hold tight tolerances (+/- 0.0002” or better).· Proficient with basic shop tools and machines (manual mill, engine lathe, drill press, bandsaw, belt sanders, hand tools etc.)
Preferred Experience: · Experience with a variety of CAM systems, including Powermill· Experience with GF multi-axis milling machines and Heidenhain controls· A technical diploma or associate degree in CNC machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field.· Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
