About the role
Position Summary:
Iredell Health System is seeking a full‑time Pediatric Hospitalist (Pediatrics Board Certified or Board Eligible) to support a Level I Newborn Nursery and inpatient pediatrics at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville, North Carolina. Program Highlights Level I Newborn Nursery with approximately 700 deliveries per year Inpatient pediatrics averaging ~2 patients per day No ICU/NICU coverage Strong tertiary referral center support with streamlined transfer options for higher acuity care Schedule24-hour shifts Flexible scheduling within the team to promote coverage stability and work–life balance
Responsibilities:
- Routine newborn nursery care (assessment, rounding, parent counseling, discharge planning)
- General inpatient pediatric care (admissions, daily management, discharge coordination)
- Clear communication with families and collaboration with OB, ED, nursing, and ancillary services
Requirements:
- MD/DOBoard Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics
- Eligible for/holds North Carolina medical licensurePALS required
- Neonatal resuscitation credential: NRP accepted (NALS also accepted per role/policy)
